Request: disambiguate identical search results

When searches yield multiple items with similar long names differing only in the very end - for example, “Smithsonian Collection of Classic Jazz, Vol. 1” versus “Smithsonian Collection of Classic Jazz, Vol. 2” - the end of the name is truncated and there is no way to tell the search results apart. This is true both in the quick search results dropdown, and in the view you get when you choose “Show all results”. I’ll attach a screen shot to show.

It would be great if, instead of truncating the informational part, the identical parts of the names could be shortened, like “Smithsonian Col … Jazz, Vol 1” and “Smithsonian Col … Jazz, Vol 2”. Yes, the code would be a little more complex, but I’ve seen other applications do this and it is very helpful.

Alternatively, it would be great if, when the mouse hovers over the truncated item, the full name is displayed as hover text.

Thanks!

Thank you for reporting this. On that note, I find the “Various Artists” could also be a little better presented. I will mention this to our product and UX/UI team.
