Roon Server is part of the “Roon” install. For Mac devices, it can be found at Roon.dmg

This has been the case since the release of 2.0.25 - see Roon 2.0.25 is live.

The Roon installer will now install two applications: Roon and Roon Server. To use Roon, you will need to start Roon Server on a device (and probably configure it to start on power on).

And in case the server isn’t running for some reason, then its launcher isn’t very easy to find on the Mac because it is hidden within the „Roon“ launcher in Finder > Applications > Roon:

After this there should be a Roon icon in the menu bar. Darren, be sure to open its menu and set it to launch at startup

Thank you for this. Not being a Mac user, I did not know of this wrinkle. It may be that this was all that is required for @darrenelgin to get his system working

:+1: I think the RoonServer launcher should be moved out of the „Roon“ bundle if possible, so that it’s separately visible like on Windows

I think that that would make sense for many/most people.

Separate launchers, in Mac terminology, do not seem to cause any issues on Windows, so I don’t imagine it would cause significant issues on Mac either. However, I don’t know what might be considered ‘standard practice’ for client-server applications on Macs.

That’s been very helpful, particularly the show contents. Thank you both.

It’s not standard practice.
