Thanks for letting us know. Can you please share a screenshot of the Signal Path information? Are you streaming to the device via Roon Ready mode, or via direct output? For higher sample rates, please ensure that you are in Roon Ready mode.

Concerning “Roon Ready”: I have not found a way to activate this, the manual also does not mention it: HiBy R6ProMax User Manual | HiBy WiKi

Ok, found it.
I incorrectly assumed that once doing a firmware update would be enough, but I had to go from 1.00->1.10->1.20->1.30->1.40->1.50 with 5 firmware update sessions.

Now I do have Roon Ready, and with Roon Ready I get proper Signal Path without resampling.

Using the On Device Roon app still does resampling, unfortunately, but at least Roon Ready works.
