I realized that all of my Richard Strauss recordings have the composer metadata “Strauss Family”. Apart from that the “Strauss Familiy” have not composed any works together, and that the composer members of this family would love to see their family name spelled correctly ( “Strauß”), Munich-born composer Richard Strauss (with a double “ss”) is not related to the Austrian Strauß-dynasty (although he, too, wrote some waltzes).
