· My Ring cannot find any OS servers so it asks me if I want to use Ring on my Mac. Also under Setup a couple of years ago I could go into Setup and see the GUI screen. Since returning this is also to me a major flaw. I do have an open casefor several weeks

To help us troubleshoot the issue, could you please clarify if you previously had Roon Server running successfully on this Mac?
If so, please try manually launching the Server component to see if it starts:
Open your Applications folder (Cmd + Shift + A).
Right-click (or Control-click) on the Roon app icon.
Select "Show Package Contents".
Navigate to Contents > MacOS (or Contents/Resources depending on version, but usually Contents/MacOS is where the executable lives, though for Roon it might be Contents/RoonServer.app inside the bundle.
Does the Roon icon appear in your top menu bar after doing this?
We were able to review the diagnostics log from your Mac’s Roon Server. We noticed that Roon Server is currently extremely busy processing the “Pictures/Photos” directory.
If you cannot connect to Roon Server, please temporarily move the “Pictures/Photos” directory to another location and try to connect again.
Once you are connected, please disable this storage location in settings if you did not intend to add the photos folder. You can then move the folder back to its original location.
If you cannot access this setting, please move the “Pictures” folder to another location or temporarily rename it. This should allow you to access your Roon Server. Then remove the pictures folder from your watched folders and rename it back in Finder.
I really dont want the Macintosh HD have nusic files as it is onlt 256Gb. I thinl Qobuz file locatio is set to it. So should I remove all the current folders, restart, then add the OWC 4Gb SSD back?
I also have way too many files I’m also in process of reducing any of my duplicates,
I probably didn’t explain it right. Any files on internal HD drive i will move to my external 4Tb. Then I’ll rename the internal folder name. Do you need me to change all the folder names for external locations as well?
I’ll be able to do this after work tonight. I’m off at 8pm EST
I’m at work but will address this after work. Just want to be certain about folder renames. On internal HD rename the Music folder, and the rest of folders with Music on the external NVME 4Tb. Then try to restart the Server.
Alex, just want to be in understanding this. You want me to rename any folders that are listed on the Roon storage screen I sent you? I think I am duplicating some folders resulting in hundreds of albums it’s trying to process.
For example the 4tb OWC ssd shows up like 4 times and greatly increasing the number of albums Roon is trying to index by hundreds of files. I think we could keep the root folder which would include all the subfolders including more than one Music folder.
MacOS26 w0n’t let mw rename the Music foldrt but it’s empty now any. Alex, thanks for your help on this. On previous instillations of Roon could always find a server but not this time.
Do you have a Nucleus or a ROCK/NUC system running in your home network? If you don’t, then you won’t have a Roon Operating System running - because these are the only devices that use RoonOS. So Roon will never find a running RoonOS…
