Mr. Bear was one of the greatest writers of hard science fiction, and a founder of comic-con in San Diego.
If you have any interest, I can’t think of a better starting point for his books than “Forge of God” [not about religion].

Thats really sad, Eon and Eternity were two of my favourite books back when they were released, absolutely blew my mind when I read them in my late teens/early twenties.

‘Darwin’s Radio’
Big fan of Greg Bear. I admire all he accomplished in his life, then I found out he was my age and I realized I better get started.
Sad news and although I have not read a book of his for a while, his books were always really enjoyable and contained some great ideas
