I have an Antipodes K22. I would like to rip CDs to my storage SSD. Can that be done? If so, how?
Roon, as a music playback software system, does not support ripping physical media. However, this capability is included (in a limited way) in the RoonOS distribution of ROCK.
Your question can be answered with a “Yes”, but the path to accomplishing this could be deployed in quite a multitude of ways. The best part to answer the question should be Antipodes, what do they say/recommend?
From memory the Antipodes software itself has a CD ripper built in that will rip straight to any recognized drive it has found.
I have an external CD drive I got from Dell. when I plug it into the K22 it is not recognized. I also have an external SSD with my music on it, and too is not recognized.
Not recognized by the K22?
Gary,
I have a K41 and have ripped CD’s in the past. However, there are known issues with it currently, and I believe they will be fixed in the next release of the Antipodes software. It is all documented on Antipodes own user forum, and the team respond to messages reasonably quickly.
The last I remember, it was back working, as there was a workaround from their Metadata supplier. .Antipodes User Forum CD Ripping MetaData Issues
At the moment, I use a computer and move the files over.
