Hello friends!
I’ve been searching for the ISO of Rock 2.1 to create a bootable USB, but I can’t find any links.
Is it really necessary to upgrade from version 1.0 to 2.1 instead of directly installing 2.1?

Hi Steve,
You can simply logon to your ROCK via a browser, and push on “Reinstall” under “Operating system”. Then the latest version available will be installed (2.1 buikd 271 on a UEFI-installation).
And indeed, the actual available ROCK-iso is not the latest version, but with this simple mouse-click, it will become the latest one. Takes only a very short time to reinstall.
Good luck, Frank.
Same here. The one on the installation guide for Roon does install but does not boot after since it doesn’t seem to have include UEFI ?
Well that only works if your Roon install is running. If you have to do a FRESH install on a new system or harddrive you out of luck
For a download, you have to read this guide HERE
Go down to point 3. Download. There you will find the link to the image (with UEFI boot)
Or click directly on the Download Link
The guide for the codec is here: Page Link
And you can download the codec itself here: Download Link
Maybe someone can tell me what I am doing wrong or what may be the issue with my install process
I got a 2016 Mac mini with I7 and installed ROON Rock when the UEFI boot version became available. Works flawless ever since with a USB dongle for the Network since the internal doesn’t work. I also had a i5 Mac mini and that one had issues with larger databases and always disconnected the USB dongle when scanning larger folders on a NAS
Fast forward, a friend gave me his 2018 Mac mini I7. I download roonbox-linuxx64-nuc4-usb-factoryreset-100000258.img and create a USB with Etcher. Boot up the Mac mini by holding down Option Key. I get the install menu from ROON Rock and follow instructions. Remove the media as requested at the end of the install and reboot. But instead of booting from he drive I get only a Flashing ? But no boot. Hmmmm ?
Downloaded a Mint Linux Distro and boot of the USB Install Media. Installed that Linux Distro and rebooted and the Mac mini boots fine into that Linux Distro.
So I use again the roonbox-linuxx64-nuc4-usb-factoryreset-100000258.img USB Stick and boot from the USB. Install Roon Rock again and it overwrites everything. Reboot and again nothing. Only a Flashing Folder Icon with ?
Anything I missed?
When I boot from the Mint Linux distro for a test I can view the SSD in the Mac mini and I see the ROON install and it shows all partitions it created and a EFI boot partition with Fat32. But still somehow it doesn’t like to boot from it. Only strange thing I noticed was it left a 1MB unused space before the first partition. Not sure if that matters. Any idea ?
