Translation:
Sorry for speaking in Japanese. I’m new to roon.
I installed rock on Intel NUC13ANHI70000.
I’m trying to copy ffmpeg to the \rock\data\ folder and open it from a network folder on my Windows 11 computer, but the folder cannot be found.
I’m in trouble. Please help me.
I can play the entire sequence in the roon app.
Windows 11 has a habit of not seeing, or forgetting the presence of, some non-Windows devices in your network.
Try typing in the name explicitly in the address field of the Windows File Explorer.
For example: \\ROCK\
.
Alternatively, you can use the “Map Network Drive” feature of Windows to map an internal folder (e.g. the Data
folder) to your Windows PC. That doesn’t seem to disappear.
Hi, Geoff
Thank you for your reply.
I’ve try this same method that you tell me many meny times every day.
But I can’t see roon folders…
You think my machines might be infected with a computer virus?
Thanks
What is the error message that you are getting when you try typing in \\rock\
into the address field of Windows File Explorer? Please translate the message into English for us. Thank you.
You are typing \\rock\
in the wrong place - you are putting it into the Search field; instead you should be putting it into the Address field (where the word Network is showing at the top).
Are you sure that your NUC/ROCK system is in the same subnet as your Windows PC?
And can you access the Web Administration Interface of the system?
Sorry if it’s not ok to hijack the thread, but I have the same issue this last week…
I have used this method for years, but suddenly it asks for password, and guest isn’t working. Could be connected to a Win update? I have Win11 as well.
I get this error message when trying to use either blank or guest as password.
Have tried setting the guest access setting in gruop policy as well, with no luck.
This is not the same issue I think - the “Enter network credentials” message is caused by Microsoft tightening security in accessing shared folders over the network.
Resolve it by following the instructions in this article:
@Henrik_Richter_Schie: Geoff’s link is the correct one for your problem but just to clarify: The first 5 solution steps are for NAS where you can change the access rights from guest to an actual account. You can’t do that on ROCK, so the solution is in step 6 - re-allow connecting as guest in Windows.
Amazing and qucik help, thank you!
DearGeoff,
i try to reinstall Windows11 and reset main server.
Then I try to do
step no.6,7
So I can see my rock folder !!!wwwww
Many many thaks !!!
