ROCK does not find external USB SSD anymore

Hey, I am running ROCK on a NUC (8i3BEK) since 3 years with (almost) no problems. I am adding my own music library by an external SSD 2TB via M.2 USB Caddy. Also backups are copied here.

Now, ROCK does not find this storage anymore. This happened in the past, but after ready the SSD by my W11 PC, it was found again on the NUC.

Any suggestion welcome. Best, Mathias

Is the SSD formatted as NTFS? Did you unplug it from the NUC without shutting it down, or did you have a power outage?

Thank you for reply. If I connect the SSD to my W11-PC, all files are present. If it is connected to the NUC - Rock does not see them. I shut the NUC down before removing the SSD and connect it also in state “off”. Does this mean, I am not able to use the SSD (and the music, that is on it) anymore? Any idea how I can proceed. Thanks in advance.

You didn’t say if the disk is formatted as NTFS

Does the ROCK not see the disk at all or is the disk recognized but the ROCK does not list the files on it?

That’s good.

Nevertheless, if the disk is NTFS, try to run a chkdsk /f command for the disk while it’s connected to the Windows PC, as explained in the links I posted

Yes it was NTFS and did like you said. Great Man, problem solved. Thank you very much  Enjoy the weekend.

Great! NTFS is a little tricky with ROCK and such things happen with it. Enjoy as well

My USB external drive is NTFS ,our power supply drops at least twice a day , the NUC is on Auto restart on power restore, funnily gives me no problems so far

The SSD was ROCK internally formatted ex FAT i assume

One say i may reformat it but 2 tb to recopy UGH
