Describe the issue

My ROCK machine wont upgrade to Roon OS 2.56 Even if i stop Roonserver and restart it with the supposedly newest version, it does not install the 2.56 version. The problem is that without this corrective version, my Tailscale is unattainable with ARC. This Levono tiny performed flawlessly since i built it 2 years ago and upgraded itself without problems before october. Can you help me regain access to ARC ?

Describe your network setup

Bell 4000 Hub, switch, rj-45 to my streamer

Try clicking the Reinstall button under Operating System in the web interface (top left of your screenshot). This will reinstall Roon OS and the latest version of Roon Server, while keeping your Roon database intact.

(This is a safe operation but you should always have a Roon database backup just in case).

I do not exaggerate if I tell you that I did that at least 20 times and the roonserver refuse absolutely refuse to update.

I did the same thing. Reboot the server and retry Reinstal. That did it for me.

And what’s the error message then?

Hi @Jacques_Legrand,

Thank you for the message. We’re seeing that even diagnostics aren’t reaching our servers, which suggests something may be blocking your ROCK from connecting to them.

To confirm, please follow the steps outlined here to collect your ROCK logs, and then upload them to our File Uploader.

Once the logs have been uploaded, please let us know so we can check our server for your files.

Thanks!

Logs uploaded

Hello @Jacques_Legrand

The logs you have attached do look like the logs from your phone. Would you kindly attach the logs from the ROCK machine?

Finally network search (win10 pro) worked and logs are sent

Hey @Jacques_Legrand,

Thanks for sending a set of ROCK logs over! We can see from logs that the update fails because DNS resolution for download.roonlabs.net is not working on the host machine. In other words, your system can’t translate that domain name into an IP address.

Do you have any active firewalls that could be blocking this? If you can, simplify your network chain and get a direct ethernet connection from your ROCK directly to your primary router and bypass all other gear. Then, try again.

If that doesn’t help, it may be worth testing a different DNS server - we have seen users have a better experience in the past if they change their Router’s DNS servers from the ISP provided ones to Cloudflare DNS, Quad9 or Google DNS. Can you please give this a try and let me know if it helps?

Thank you!

New logs sent
I followed your recommandations, no results.
I finally installed in the proper folder the new 1584 earlyaccess build and i changed my router DNS server to 1.1.1.1

I hope it will be good and function well with the next upgrade of ROON.

Hello @Jacques_Legrand
