ROCK not detected after NUC power loss (ref#J870RJ)

I unplugged my NUC with ROCK and plugged it back in. While my network then found the NUC at the usual IP address and I got the ROCK software to come up by visiting the IP address through a browser, Roon couldn’t recognize it. I rebooted the network, etc., but it still couldn’t find it. I even updated the Roon OS.

I then followed the troubleshooting steps and had Roon on my Mac try to find a different core. It then found my ROCK, and I connected to it, but now my library and all my settings (such as audio devices to play the music) have disappeared. I’m not sure whether I accidentally swapped in a new NUC.

In any event, I had been backing up my Roon library to my Mac. Is it possible to restore my library and all settings? I really hope I don’t have to redo the ARC settings, as they are tricky.

Thanks.

Thank you.

Hi @Andrew_Stein,

We’re sorry to hear that you’ve experienced a power loss and some subsequent hardware problems.

If you have a recent Backup, then it will contain all of your Roon Settings, including any DSP profiles or Device Setup preferences for your Zones. The Backup will also retain your Roon library, as long as the Watched Folders and the drives hosting them are available to whichever RoonServer machine you’re now using.

If you want to use the ROCK, you’ll need to repeat this process:

Click “Restore a Backup” and locate the Backup you’ve created.

Alternatively, you can log in to create a new Roon database, and then navigate to: Settings > Backups > Find Backups > Browse > Restore and find the Backup.

Please let us know if this helps or if we can clarify further. Thank you!

Thank you. It worked.
