Description Of Issue

Migrated CORE to a NUC running ROCK successfully and restored from the Buffalo external HDD that previously served as the backup drive for my Macbook. That Buffalo HDD is now connected via USB to the NUC ROCK and is recognized however forced and scheduled backups result in the following error:

Backup Failed: Backup Directory not Available

I have attempted to backup on to a USB Flash Drive with the same result.

Hi jason,

Not official support, just a friendly helpful user. The issue might be that Linux cannot write to drives formated in HFS+, mac journaling. ExFAT is a better format to use for compatibility. Try formatting the USB flash drive in exFat and then see if backup can then backup to it.

That would make total sense! Thank you, Dan!

30-second fix. It looks like that did the trick. Thank you again!

Thanks @Rugby for your help and suggestions.

@Jason_Nilles, welcome back. I’m so happy this was fixed in not more and not less than 30 seconds

Please, let us know if anything else comes up :musical_note:
