Description Of Issue

I am about to set up ROCK on a NUC. My Core is currently on a laptop and my library is external on a 2.5” SSD (exFAT) in a SATA to USB enclosure.

My question is, once I have set up ROCK and have it running using the external library via USB as above, can I then re-mount the 2.5” SSD as an internal drive in the NUC without ROCK still wanting to re-format it when it sees it ?

The ROCK installation advice doesn’t say you can do this, but it doesn’t say you can’t, either.

Thanks

It depends on what it is formatted as. A USB drive can have various different formats and be readable. But internal has to be EXT4. Assume exFAT won’t work.

Thankyou Henry.
Forwarned is just what they say it is . . .

no, you can not. Roon OS must format the drive when mounted internally.

Thanks Danny - understood - and I’ve now aquainted myself with the EXT4 / Linux scenario . . .
Cheers, Hugh.
