Describe the issue

I am not able to get ROCK to recognise an EXT4 Formatted disk. Same disk formatted exfat is working fine. Formatted as EXt4 both under windows using AOMEI and also plugged into synology as external drive.

Describe your network setup

ROCK on NUC8i7, asus gigabit backbone. Pibox USB to Sata adaptor

Hey @Kdp,

Thanks for writing in and sorry to hear you’re having issues with EXT4 - we’ve seen reports in the past with this, specifically in relation to formatting using a Windows machine.

If possible, as a next step in testing, what happens if you re-format using a LinuxOS computer? This would wipe the drive, so be sure to migrate your data off of it prior too.

Hello. Thank you for your reply. I did eventually get it to work. Formatting on windows… It seems that when you format using a 2 bay sata to usb as ext4, it does not work as well (at least for me) in roon. Formatting the drive with a solo usb to sata worked. And it was recognised by Roon. After that it’s also working with the 2 bay sata to usb as well…
