Hi DrCWO,
I have used your rooControl extension in combination with the suggested Amazon USB hub to control my power amplifier on/off with succes for a couple of years - thanks!
Now I have seen your Smart USB trig cable and wonder if it can replace my Amazon USB hub?
After rebooting Roon I often have to disable/enable the power control feature to get it back in sync. Is there a chance that this inconvenience will disappear with your Smart USB trig cable.
Best regards

Yes, you can replace.
I can’t tell about power cycling as I never tested this.

@DrCWO Any thoughts on when this might happen ?
I’m very sorry, but I was too optimistic.
With the latest release, I’m still receiving many requests, and there are also a few bugs that are really bothering me.
I’m truly sorry, and since I don’t know when I’ll be able to fix it, I don’t want to make any more promises today. It’s on the agenda, but it will still take some time.
Sorry
DrCWO
I understand your position, what can I say. I’d love to have it working with my system. I have rooDial and rooMax. But without a volume control they’re of little use. I even bought the Broadlink hub in anticipation.
Another rooExtend customer here that would love to be able to use rooIR! ![]()
Hi Dr CWO; this may be a dumb question, but with the new RooPlay setup not requiring Radio stations; how do you trigger Roon to play your Vinyl (other than going into extensions/Rooplay settings/save)
I have an ADI-2 Pro FS.
Thanks Kevin
You can trigger first time with the rooPlay extension by defining the settings and press Save. This will start playback.
After that you can assign this setting to a button of rooMax for example. In the next release it will also be possible to assign it to rooDial, roo6D and rooNuimo.
But you also should still be able to use the already defined Radio Station for the Audio Interface.

Thank you; I have a surface dial and use RooDial; so that would be great.
Thanks
Kevin
You will get the chance to assign interface playback on a long press of the surface dial for example ![]()
hi,i have been using Roon for a while, i had several Ropieee’s, Node2i from BluSound and other stuff running. I moved two of the Ropieee to RooExtend, i setup everything without a problem, RooDial was working fine and playback on both.
I released an Update as usual (Roon when you login asks if you want to release it)
and since then i am having major issues. If i add one of the two RooExtend everything is fine, playback is possible. When i add the second one, it takes over the Name of the first one (very strange) and the first added one disappears. I tried to reset both units, same behavior. I assume something in the Roon DB got chopped up, is there a way to fix without reinstalling Roon Server?
Second Question:
How do i use Ethernet, when setting up RooExtend i do not have the option to select Ethernet or later in the Menu…
This sound very strange to me. Never heard such a thing before.
Do you run an rooExtend-Box or rooExtend DIY?
I can understand that you don’t want to reinstall tthe Roon Core.
If you use a DIY rooExtend just try to re-flash the SD Card and retry after that.
EDIT:
I saw you did some grouping. Douses the issue also happen without the group?
Please also take care that the rooExtend also got updated (will be automatically) as Roon does.
