Ji @Felix_Vijiac,
I told you I will get into that if I’m back from Asia. Now I saw that Crossfeed is provided by Roon. So if you like to use it you can add the Crossfeed DSP in front of the Convolution for the headphone and you will be fine (see screenshot below)
This means no task for me any more
yes, i actually was inquiring about combining Roon Crossfeed with rooHead convolution filters. Now the headphone being equalized i was wondering if it was a good idea to crossfeed as it will alter the frequencies, no?
Crossfeed always alters the amplitude a bit. You can experiment a bit by putting Crossfeed on front of or after the FIR and see where the effect is less. Even if I put it into the FIR filter you will get the same amplitude changes.
I purchased RooHead the other day, followed the directions in the video and everything works like a charm. Thank you.
I have a question…
Before RooHead, I input settings in the Parametric EQ that were generated at autoeq.app for my Audeze LCD-XC. I now realise that this is essentially the same as what RooHead does except RooHead does this as a Convolution filter.
My question is:
The settings that I generate at autoeq.app start with a bass boost of +6dB. In RooHead I can only boost bass by +3dB. I find I like +6dB. How do I achieve a +6dB bass boost with RooHead?
This is the FIR filter generated for the LCD-XC for a sample rate of 96kHz and a +3dB Bass boost.
I guess all the filters I offer from out of the database have already some bass boost. But feel free to compare the results. I adjusted the volume of my curve so it fits the scale of your yellow equalizer curve.
A couple of questions, I am trying to setup Roohead on my new RooExtend box and cannot proceed as its requesting a license that I thought would be provided for a sixty day trial with the new RooExtend box. Is the Roohead license not included with 60 day trial?
Hi @Chris_Hayden,
a 60 days free license is not included for rooHead
Why?
With rooHead you can create correction filters for your headphone that can be used with any Roon system. This means if you once have created the correction filter you don’t need rooHead any more.
I’m sure you understand that if I offer a free License for rooHead I will never get money for it as anybody creates its correction filter during these 60 free days.
I now have roohead license and convolution zip file for my headphones but I’m unable to have Roon find it! The browse folder finder only seems to point to my local hard drive and will not select the zip file. Roon is located on a ROCK Nuc setup on my network and I have copied the zip file to the roon server but never “sees” it or uploads the zip file. I’m sure I’m missing something simple here, any ideas next step?
Anxious to finally what roohead is all about!
Also I have the the Quick keys control that I’m learning to integrate into my system, the quick keys defaultly shows the music track timer as a count up display, How can i change this to a count down timer, showing only time remaining for the track? This is very important feature for me to show/indicate remaining time of track!
You need to download the zip file to your local machine. Then when you click browse in the convolution filter it will show you directories on the local machine.
When you select the file it will be uploaded to the roon server.
Greg, Thanks for your idea as you are correct however i think my issue is with the browser. the browser will not navigate into the NUC and only sees my local drive on my laptop and not the spare drive on the NUC!
The culprit was Windows 11 saving me from myself such that the convolution zip file was being quarantined, I could see it but not access it via the browser because MS thought it was suspect (unauthorized).
