Roon 1.3 core crashing on mac mini after client connect [Resolved - Energy Saving Settings Were Adjusted]

My Roon core is crashes or exits regularly, usually after a new client connect. This does NOT happen every time I start up a new client on my iPhone or iPad, but is happening approximately once a day.

I have two logs where crashes occurred and note that both end with

04/21 06:18:54 Trace: [SOOD] Adding User IP 10.1.10.XX
04/21 06:18:54 Trace: [raat] [sood] Refreshing device list

I’d attach them here but .txt files don’t seem to be supported…so I include a larger chunk of one of them below.

I have not found any crash logs.

I do attach some screen shots with my configuration information.

Hi @Mike_Hayden ---- Thank you for the report and my apologies for the troubles here. To help me better evaluate this behavior you are reporting to us may I kindly ask you to please provide me with the following information:

  1. I see you have started to list some of the details of your setup , can you please expand on your description as seen here.

  2. Can you please briefly outline your network configuration/topology as well as providing insight into any networking hardware you are implementing in your setup.

  • Music files are stored on an external USB drive attached to the Mac Mini. See attached.

  • Music collection is approx 900 GB, approx 27K tracks

  • Not sure what to give you re network; Mac Mini and BDP-1s are all wired to a 100baseT network that includes 3 switches and a business class Comcast cable modem. Clients on iPad/iPod connect via Apple Airport Extreme wifi.

Is there any other info you need?

Hi @Mike_Hayden ----- Thank you for the follow up and taking the time to answer my questions.

Moving forward, can you please verify the make/model of the switches and router being used in your setup. Furthermore, I know you mentioned that you have two sets of logs from when this crash occurred. Can you provide them to me in a dropbox download link?

-Eric

Linksys by Cisco EZXS55W EtherFast 10/100 5-Port Workgroup Switch
Cisco-Linksys EZXS88W EtherFast 10/100 8-Port Workgroup Switch

The cable modem is not accessible to me (I’m handicapped and can’t deal with the rack installation where it resides). However I procured the attached; hopefully that’s enough.

I’ve not given someone a DropBox link before; if this doesn’t work tell me how to email the logs to you:

Hi @Mike_Hayden ---- Thank you for the follow up and providing me with the requested information/logs. Confirming that everything has been received and is in our queue for evaluation.

Moving forward, I would like to try (if possible) to also capture logs from one of your remote devices after this behavior occurs. I am going to be contacting you via PM with further instructions.

-Eric
