In the version 333 my mp3 files were played with 24bit and in the version 334 then only in 16bit. In addition, I had irregular noise in the audio playback. With the latest ffmpeg version (ffmpeg-git-20180711-64bit-static), the mp3 files are played back in 24bit and there are no more noises.
Maybe you should refer to ROCK updates on necessary ffmpeg updates.
