Roon 2.0.45 update

I recently moved my nuc7i5 to a fanless case and installed a larger internal SSD. That meant moving my library over onto the new SSD, so I used that opportunity to clean a few things up.

I had Roon ROCK re-analyze the new library once it was installed on the new SSD. Chugging away, chugging away, chugging away. 55,000 tracks. Days went by.

So all this was going on when the new update was pushed out to us. I saw the notice and installed the update.

I have no idea what sort of juju Roon did with this new update, but there were about 18,000 tracks remaining for analysis when the install booted up, and they were finished in 3 hours!

This may be just post hoc and the speed of analysis is unrelated to the update, but if it is -a huge thanks to the programmers. Life is easier.

The analyze function could have been hosed up and the restart of the server software for the update sorted that out. Think I’ve read posts on that but can’t be sure.

It’s gets stuck very easily. Yet they can’t replicate it ever. Hmmm. It happens to lots of users and a reboot tends to clear it. But it can crop up again just adding music. Best thing is to keep analysis off until you have added files then run it and turn off again once done.
