Roon 2.0 build 1259 - won't install, update message on every launch

Description of Issue

Every time I launch Roon on the Mac server or any other device I get the “updates available” message. Roon 2.0 build 1259 -but it won’t install. I click to relaunch as instructed, the message reappears. It has been doing this for weeks now.

I have “update automatically” as the setting on this Mac that is running RoonCore which is my server dedicated just for this.

It shouldn’t be doing that but there was at least one earlier report about a similar issue with build 1259, in this case a Nucleus though. The solution there was to trigger the update with the Nucleus’s admin website instead:

Hey @Steven_Erwin, Ben with the support team here, and I completely understand your hesitations on reinstalling the OS on your Nucleus. As a first step, I’d triple-check to make sure you have a recent backup saved. With that, I’d setup automatic backups too if you haven’t yet, it’s a great fail-safe if things ever go sour on you. After you know you have a fresh backup saved, @Rugby is correct in that the best next step would be to reinstall the OS via the webUI of your Nucleus. You can learn …

In your case, I’d ensure that you have a current backup just to be safe, then download the current installer from Roon - Downloads and install it manually.
