Roon 2.0 - loaded on iPhone 13 but Roon won’t load on Mac Desktop.

Remote will not connect as Core don’t match.

I suspect you’re using Roon 1.8 on the Mac. If you go to Roon > Settings > About on the Mac, is an update available?

What desktop model is this and what specific is MacOS version is that machine running?

Roon on macOS requires 10.15 as a minimum.

If your Mac can not be updated, then Roon 1.8 legacy is available from the App Store. Which should get your iPhone remote connected to a 1.8 Roon Core once more.

Thank you for writing and also for your patience in awaiting an official response.

I’ve looked at the diagnostics for your account I can see that your core is indeed on 1.8 but at the same time, meets the minimum requirements for Roon 2.0.

Something is either corrupted or something odd happened with our update servers. Let’s try the steps below:

  • Create a Backup of your current database
  • Exit out of Roon
  • Navigate to your Roon Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “Roon”
  • Rename the “Roon” folder to “Roon_old”
  • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder
  • Verify if the issue persists on a fresh database before restoring the backup
