· I install updates as available. Updated to 2.66 (1658) yesterday and Roon will no longer connect to my SynologyNAS where my music files are stored. No other changes, just the update. Message: "This drive is not available. Check the drive or edit this folder if it's been moved." It is available and not moved. Tried to make a new connection and it won't see the server files at all now. Roon core is running on a Mac Mini 2024 M4 16GB running Sequoia 15.5 hard wired ethernet. Toggled the settings to allow Roon to find and communicate devices on the network and rebooted the Mac and no change. Thank you in advance for your help.

Yes, I have two shares on my Synology server dedicated to Roon. One is for daily Roon back-up, which is still doing its daily thing. Second is the share for my music storage. Both are fully accessible and mounted on my desktop via SMB. Here is the screen shot requested.
Thanks for the screenshots. Could you please try manually specifying the Synology IP address instead of using a .local address? Once that is working, we would also suggest setting an address reservation in the router so the IP does not change in the future. Let us know if this helps.
I specified the share address by the IP as instructed for the music files - screenshot attached. Roon scanned and completely brought in everything “fresh”. The problem I have now is my Playlists are still there, but all tracks are showing "unavailable” - screenshot attached. How do I fix this? Thank you
Thank you for your patience, and I apologize for the delay in getting back to you.
I see exactly what happened here. When you added the network share using the IP address, it looks like it was added as a completely new watched folder rather than editing the existing one. Because of this, Roon imported all the files as “new” music. Your playlists are still looking for the old file paths tied to the .local address, which is why the tracks are showing up as unavailable.
To get your playlists working again, we need to point the original database entry to the new IP address. Here is how you can fix this:
Option 1: If your old .local folder is still visible in Settings > Storage
Go to Settings > Storage.
Disable and Remove the new folder you just added (the one with the IP address).
Find your old folder (the one that was using the .local address). Click the three dots (⋮) next to it and select Edit.
In the Network Share Location field, simply replace the .local address with your IP address.
Save the changes. Roon will re-scan the folder, but this time it will update the paths for your existing tracks, and your playlists should reconnect automatically.
Option 2: If you already deleted the old .local folder
Since you mentioned your daily Roon backups are still running perfectly, the best way forward is to roll back to right before this change was made.
Go to Settings > Backups and choose Find Backups.
Restore a backup from a date before you added the new IP address folder (e.g., May 14th or earlier).
Once the restore is complete, go to Settings > Storage.
Click the three dots (⋮) next to the original .local folder, select Edit, and change the .local address to the IP address as described above.
Let us know how it goes or if you run into any issues along the way!
First, I was wrong that Roon was still backing up to the Synology NAS, but it is backing still backing up to my Apple mini, and an attached USB drive. I went with your option 2, rolled back/restored to May 1 (screen shot attached). Your step 4 is where I am hung up. “Settings > Storage > Click the three dots (⋮) next to the original .local folder, select Edit, and change the .local address to the IP address as described above” When I click the edit, it brings me to the “edit storage screen” (attached), and I see the address, but no way to edit it (?). When I hit browse, it takes me back to the “choose music storage folder” (attached) and no way to edit it there either. Help please!!!
I appreciate it’s been 11 days since the last post from Roon, but I wanted to let you know that Roon support do not work the weekends so it’s a waste of your effort asking again for an update at the weekend.
I empathise with you that no comms for such a long time is not acceptable and I have messaged Roon in an attempt to escalate this for you.
When you get to this step (after clicking the Edit button), you can clear out the old location using the X and specify the share via Add Network Share:
Please do not use “Add Folder” next to Folders:
The reason I believed this didn’t work last time is that it’s possible that Roon saw two copies of the music files at the same time, causing it to treat the duplicate files as “new”. Roon matches up existing database files by analyzing their music fingerprint (file hash), so it is important that files are only seen exactly once to preserve previous metadata.
If you have already had two copies of the music files at the same time visible to Roon, please restore a database backup and try the procedure to respecify the files location.
