· Roon 2.71 – Roon Server will not start on iMac

I am a paid Roon subscriber. My iMac running macOS Ventura 13.7.8 is my Roon Server/Core. I do NOT use ROCK, Nucleus One, or Nucleus Titan.

Since the update to Roon 2.71 (build 1680), Roon is unusable. The application remains at “Waiting for your Roon Server.” There is no RoonServer process visible in Activity Monitor. My ~/Library/RoonServer folder and database are intact.

The Roon log repeatedly attempts to connect to the local server and eventually reports showing local server disconnected screen.

I understand Roon has acknowledged a 2.71 “server not running” issue involving ROCK/Nucleus, but my configuration is an iMac-based Roon Server and Roon will not operate at all.

I previously posted for support but have received no response and can no longer locate the request. Please escalate this to a Roon Technical Support engineer. My Roon system is completely unusable.

Please download the new version from Roon’s website and install it on your Mac.

Hope this helps, if not Roon will follow up here when they return to work after the weekend.

We have a fix for the macOS startup crash, and Carl’s link points to the updated build. Please download the new version from Roon’s Downloads page and install it on your Mac. You may need to use that page to get the current installer directly.

Let us know if you still see the same behavior after updating.

The new download worked. As an aside, I used ChatGPT to help me navigate through the debugging of the issue and recommended the download.
