Hi - I use Roon with my Aurender A200. The Aurender comes with its own storage which I access through my home network. Is it normal that when I turn off Roon AND Aurender for the day and turn them on again the next day, I have to rescan all my files again? Thanks!
P.S. I tried to log this in as a Technical Support question, but the clicking on the appropriate button did nothing.

Roon should run 24/7 for best results.

Yes, if a storage location goes offline, then the RoonServer will rescan when it comes back online to verify that everything is still the same.

Hello @Claudia_Locsin ,
Thanks for the question — and welcome
Yes, what you’re seeing is expected behavior , especially given how the Aurender A200 presents its internal storage.
A few key points to clarify:
When you power off the Aurender , its internal storage becomes unavailable on the network
From Roon’s perspective, that storage location has gone offline
When you power everything back on, Roon will rescan the storage to confirm file availability and detect any changes
This rescan is a verification pass , not a full re-import from scratch. Your library data, edits, and metadata are preserved.
Best practices to minimize this behavior
Roon Server is designed to run continuously (24/7) when possible
If the Aurender remains powered on, rescans will be minimal or instantaneous
If the storage regularly goes offline (power downs), rescans on reconnect are normal and unavoidable
So in short: nothing is wrong , and no data is being lost — Roon is just doing its due diligence to keep the library consistent.
If you have any follow-up questions about storage setup or scan behavior, feel free to ask. Happy listening and happy holidays
