Roon and chromecast audio

i use an imac core with a chromecast audio into a chord mscaler. the imac is wired in and i only use tidal streaming with roon. is the audio path tidal/roon server to my router to my imac via ethernet then back to my router via ethernet and then the audio data is sent wirelessly to the chromecast audio? i ask because my imac has wifi turned off so this must be the audio route?

also when i read chromecast does not support RAAT what are the implications here?

Yes, the data path is as you describe. RAAT and non-RAAT devices cannot be grouped together for synchronized playback.

if chromecast audio does not use RAAT what does it use instead?

Chromecast, google proprietary.

Thanks and happy holidays
