Just a quick heads up to anyone tempted to try out the latest QNAP QTS 4.3 beta. Don’t. It doesn’t work and remote instances of Roon can no longer find the core.

Anthony.
I have a fix already ready for QTS 4.3.
The 4.3 OS is now fully 64 bit and does not play nice with in the qpkg bundled libraries (which are from now also part of the QTS).
I had kind of expected that to be the reason so I wasn’t particularly surprised when it didn’t work!
Impressed that you were on things so quick. Are you planning on releasing the fix and if so any idea when you will get the time?
Anthony.
@Anthony_Howard:
I have sent you a PM.
Can we upgrade or not ?
I have updated my blog post now and it has an updated qpkg 1.0.2 that should work with QTS 4.3.
If you update to QTS 4.3 you will need to reinstall the qpkg file as well.
(You can also update the qpkg before updating your QTS. It would be interesting to know for me if RoonServer launches with this package in QTS 4.2.x. It should though, but it is tested on QTS 4.3)
I stopped Roon server in QTS 4.2. Downloaded your latest Roon server 1.0.2, installed and it played from my last session.
Next step is to upgrade to QTS 4.3.
Edit:
Upgrade QTS 4.3 went also just fine.

Thanks for the confirmation!
Maybe you can do something by using this function. I’m not sure how it works, but adding your download url did not work.
I have seen this already. I still have on my to do list, to get the qpkg listed in the official QNAP App repository. But I need to do a little bit more research for that and my time is currently very limited due to work projects and a move to a new flat.
Hi Christopher!
Thank you and good luck for the move and take your time.
Thx,
Armin
