Is there a streamer/server that can play to Roon (using the Roon app) and to Sonos (using the Sonos app) simultaneously?
If such a server exists, it will probably have it’s own app. It’s not reasonable to expect the SONOS or Roon control apps to work with anything other than their respective servers.
That said, we have a couple of SONOS zones, but since adding Roon to our home, we almost never find a need to use the SONOS app.
I will use Roon, but the rest of the family will want to keep using Sonos.
I think the short answer here is no. Roon can play to Sonos endpoints, but to other endpoints, it plays via RAAT (Roon Advanced Audio Transport). You can’t group (play simultaneously) to RAAT and non RAAT endpoints.
You misunderstood, I don’t want to group play, I want to simultaneously play. Ie: Play jazz on Roon (using the Roon app) in the living room and classical on Sonos (using the Sonos app) in the Kitchen.
That works fine. It’s what we do
