Roon Core Machine

I have downloaded Roon on my laptop and also downloaded the roon remote app on my android phone. But the roon app works only when my laptop and roon is on. Can’t i use the roon android app independent from my roon on laptop?

Fellow user here.
No, you can not use the android app without the laptop. The remote is just a gui for the Roon Core that resides on the laptop. Core has to be ON to play music using roon.

If you want to go mobile you need to use Roon ARC. But still Core computer has to be ON at home and you in vacation using phone with ARC app.
