Describe the issue

I updated the Roon app on my MBP today, and now the app crashes every time I launch it. Note this is not the roon server, which is working fine when accessed from iPhone. I deleted and reinstalled the MBP app and restarted the MBP, without resolving the problem. The app info says it was modified Dec 13, 2024,

Describe your network setup

The server is running on a Mac Mini, the network runs on Google mesh network.

I should add an older problem is that Roon Arc on the iPhone stopped connecting to the server a while back. “There’s an issue with your Roon Server”, it says. But when I check the server, it tells me it is “confirmed to be securely accessible by Roon ARC”. Maybe unrelated issues, maybe not.

Hey @David_Virshup,

Thanks for writing in - it’s good to see you on the community again!

As a first step, lets clear your issue mac Roon database and see how things perform - steps to follow below:

  • Create a Backup of your current database
  • Exit out of Roon
  • Navigate to your Roon Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “Roon”
  • Rename the “Roon” folder to “Roon_old”
  • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder
  • Verify if the issue persists on a fresh database before restoring the backup

We’ll be on standby for your results! :+1:

Thanks for the very clear instructions. I’m stuck on “Searching for Roon OS server”. It’s not seeing it, despite it being on and being seen by the Roon app on my iPhone.

Never mind; clicking install server and then cancelling that solved the problem. Whatever works. I also made sure the newly installed startup option for server was deleted. Seems to be all good. Thanks.
