Roon app fails Dropbox backup with "NotLoggedIn" error (ref#WJMXSR)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· Today, the Roon app on Windows gave me a notification that my backup to Dropbox had failed. It shows that the last successful backup was on 26 Jan 2026.

Up until now, my Dropbox backups had been silent and seamless, since 2022.

I haven’t changed my Roon backup configuration, and there have been no changes to my Dropbox account. I am able to login to Dropbox on the web and access my files there. I still have plenty of space under my Dropbox quota. (Though I do notice that my Roon backup folder uses 1.1 GB, which seems high.)

My Services settings in the Roon app indicate that Dropbox is "Signed in" and shows my Dropbox username.

But when I go to Backup now and attempt to select the Dropbox folder as the destination, it shows the message "Error loading folder" and "NotLoggedIn".

Can you try logging out of Dropbox, and logging back in? I’m thinking that the recent update (a security fix) may possibly have invalidated the OAuth handshake.)

Hello @John_Elsbree

Thank you for reaching Roon support.

Please let us know if re-login helps to refresh the connection or if the “NotLoggedIn” error persists.

Yes, after disconnecting and reconnecting Dropbox, the backup ran successfully.

Hi @John_Elsbree,

That is excellent news!

I’m glad to hear the backup is running smoothly again. I’ll go ahead and close this topic now.

Happy listening!
