I use the Roon app to control streaming of music on a playlist from the Mac to distant speakers in the conservatory. Oddly enough each time I select play on the app it forgets that repeat and shuffle was previously selected. This is tiresome as it plays full albums one after the other until I check the icons again.
On a side issue it would also be good if you changed the colour of those repeat play and shuffle icons to something more obvious ie RED. On the iPhone it is so difficult to see whether the icons are selected when the icons are so small.

To better understand and investigate the issue with repeat and shuffle not being retained, could you kindly walk us through the exact steps you take when using the Roon app to start playback from your Mac to the speakers in the conservatory? Does it happen after some delay in listening to music, for example, you were listening to music yesterday, selected the desired shuffle setting, and today everything reset, or does it happen just when you close the app on your phone? Or did the server just turn on when it happened?
This will help us reproduce the behavior and determine whether it’s expected or needs to be addressed.

I opened the Roon app on iPhone after a long delay in listening and waited for the server. It then showed my play queue and the status of the repeat and shuffle icons were still showing blue. However, as soon as I commenced play those icons reverted to being not selected.
Have just restarted the Mac and checked the iPhone app and the icons are still blue so I am not sure why they should revert to not being selected. If i can ascertain the exact circumstances when it occurs I’ll let you know further.

I have a definitive scenario for you… My Roon ready speakers (KEF LSX II) play using the Roon app with repeat and random modes on. When playback is halted and the speakers are turned off (with its own remote) the app still shows these functions selected but as soon as play is initiated on the app, which turns on the speakers, it turns off those functions.
