The Roon app on your tablet is just the remote control, called a Control in our architecture. It needs a separate Roon Server running somewhere on your network to actually manage your library, talk to streaming services, and send audio to your MACINTOSH RS 150. Without a Roon Server running, the app has nothing to connect to, which is why it can’t find your speaker.
Roon Server can run on a Mac, a Windows PC, certain NAS devices, or a dedicated device like a Nucleus or ROCK. Could you please let us know what hardware you have available to run it on? That’ll help us point you to the right setup steps.
Once Roon Server is running, please make sure it's on the same network as your tablet and your RS 150, and the app should pick up the speaker as a Roon Ready zone.
Just checking in on this. Were you able to confirm what hardware you have available for Roon Server, and, if you already have one running, make sure it is on the same network as your tablet and the MACINTOSH RS 150? Once Roon Server is up, the app should be able to discover the speaker as a Roon Ready zone, so let us know what you have in place or if you’d like us to point you to the right setup steps.
