Hello @Peter_Buckle,

Thank you for reaching out. Let’s go through a few quick checks to narrow this down:

  1. Restart the devices and app
    • Please reboot your Nucleus.
    • Restart your Mac and iOS device.
    • Fully close the Roon app (not just minimize) and launch it again.
  2. Reinstall the Roon app
    • On both macOS and iOS, delete the Roon app and reinstall it from the App Store.
    • No library data will be lost — this only reinstalls the UI.
  3. Check permissions
    • On macOS, please ensure Roon has access to:
      • Network (System Settings → Privacy & Security → Network)
      • Full Disk Access (if applicable, System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access)
  4. Confirm system details
    • Please let us know:
      • Has Roon worked on this setup before, or is this a new installation?
      • The macOS version and iOS version currently in use.
This information will help us determine whether the issue is related to network permissions, cached app data, or something happening during the UI connection to your Nucleus.

Once you’ve tried the steps above, please update us with the results — we’ll take the next steps from there.

Hi,
I went through the whole roon database/server delete folder and restart to create a new db, which fixed the wavy icon issue, but still couldn’t get it to find my Devialet amp as an audio output.
Eventually fixed that by setting up a new Devialet config file with WiFi turned off. So both the Nuc and the Dev are ONLY using Ethernet.
Everything now seems to be sorted. :crossed_fingers:
Only took me most of my day…

PS, I’d already done everything under your Points 1 & 2, to no avail.

On Point 3, my older iMac doesn’t have a System Settings - Privacy & Security - Network option. Any idea where the Permissions stuff might be living on OS 13.7.8 (Ventura)?

Pt 4, now more or less moot, but yes it had been working before, but I had lots of issues getting Roon and Devialet to work together right from the get go. Not sure why the issue re-occurred, but the corruption of the Roon database seems to have triggered it again. But it’s sorted again for now at least, so happy to be playing music!

Thanks very much for your help.
Peter

Hi @Peter_Buckle,

I’m happy to hear it!

I don’t believe network permissions are editable in ventura the way they are in sonoma, unfortunately.
