Roon app on ipad and iphone crashes when adding KEF LS50W

Core Machine (Operating system/System info/Roon build number)
Roon Nucleus 1.7 (build 511)

Network Details (Including networking gear model/manufacturer and if on WiFi/Ethernet)
Ethernet for Roon and wifi for KEF LS50W speakers
Ubiquiti security gateway,
Ubiquiti switch
Ubiquiti Access points AC-LR and AC-PRO

Audio Devices (Specify what device you’re using and its connection type - USB/HDMI/etc.)
KEF LSX-this one is ok working wireless (airplay)
KEF LS50W- this one is also wireless on a WPA2 5 GHz network

Description Of Issue

Every time I try to add a new end point for LS50W in the Roon app (ipad Pro and iphone 10 Max)
the app crashes.

Specifically, the app recognizes LS50W as an endpoint. When I click on
-Settings> Audio > Enable LS50W…it crashes and exits the app

Hi @Shawn_Rao,

Is there any change in behavior if you re-install the Roon iPad/iPhone app?

No change since reinstall-same behavior

It seems that KEF Streaming app is the weak link. Per KEF support engineers, this app is not good and they are advising working around the app. I used a USB type B cable to connect from Roon’s USB port to Kef’s USB input and it recognizes this as ASLA end point and it works flawlessly.

I had to move the Roon Nucleus Closer to the KEF LS50W to get this working. The app still remains buggy.

Hi @Shawn_Rao,

Can you please reproduce this behavior on your iPad/iPhone and let me know the exact local time + date the crash occurs and which device you were using? After getting this info I can enable diagnostics mode for your account.

I have the work around with usb cable. U can close this ticket.
