I have roon server on my MacBook bad utilize the operational app on my iPad. I run my music through the Aurender A1000 and output it through my Primaluna evo 400 integrated amp. It seems like the app is constantly looking for the server. The other frustrating part is that I then have to have the MacBook on and running as well. Would the dedicated roon nucleus be a solution at $500? Cheaper alternative?
Describe your network setup
All units are connected via wired or wireless to my Netgear router/modem.
Welcome to the community! Sorry to hear about your issue.
How is your Mac running Roon Server connected to your router specifically? Are you able to temporarily set up a direct ethernet connection and see if your issue persists?
Are you only seeing this issue occur from the iPad? Or, do you see it no matter the remote device you’re using?
Yes, Roon Server will need to be active and running in order to use Roon.
A Nucleus would certainly be a solution if you’re looking to run Roon Server on a dedicated machine that you’d feel comfortable leaving powered on more often. I’d suggest browsing our threads over on the Roon Software Discussion category for additional server options other Roon users enjoy using.
