Roon app to not stop active audio from other apps when opened (iOS)

This might be a very personal gripe but I cannot stand when apps take away control of what is currently being played on my phone and simply stop all playback when opened. Often I listen to music through ARC or podcasts and quickly want to check something in the Roon app only for the app to stop the playback of what is currently playing.

Why? Why not wait for the user to play something through the Roon app before stopping what the user is currently actively listening to?

Do you have the roon app set to exclusive mode? That would account for it perhaps?
I run android and it doesn’t do that.

There is no exclusive mode on iOS.

i’m using an ipod touch 7th gen. as an ios endpoint into my chord mscaler with imac as core. i’ve stripped down the ipod touch so virtually nothing can interfere with roon. 3 questions thanks. is it true an ios enpoint doesn’t support exclusive mode? why is this? does lack of exclusive mode with ios devices adversely affect the sound quality in any way? many thanks mk.

I don’t use the camera kit. Just another lightning DAC but the behaviors is the same for Bluetooth audio connections. Once I open Roon is just stops whatever is being played back.

The Qobuz app behaves the same by the way but many music/podcasts apps do not which I prefer.
