Describe the issue

The Roon App will not connect with the Roon OS Server

Describe your network setup

Google Webpass delivering Gig speed internet; eero wifi router hard wired to Apple Mac Mini; most recent Roon App loaded on Mac Mini; program will not start and delivers message "Searching for Roon OS Server..."

In the screenshot it’s trying to connect to the Roon Server on a Mac, not a Roon OS server (Nucleus, ROCK). Is this what you intend to do?

Yes. Sorry for the confusion as I’m a techy with limits. The Roon App is on my Mac Mini and it suddenly won’t start up and is trying, unsuccessfully, to connect to the Roon Server on the Mac Mini.

OK. I have clarified the topic title.

Note that if you click on „Search for Roon OS server“ (or similar, I forgot the exact wording), then it is expected to not find it, because this option applies only if you have a Nucleus or ROCK server.

With this out of the way, clicking Connect for This Mac like in your screenshot should do what you want. The next question is if the Roon Server on your Mac is running. Do you see the Roon logo on your Mac menu bar, top right of your screen?

Thank you very much for your help. I realized I hadn’t rebooted the Mac Mini to load the Roon App (most recent version). It looks like it is working fine and asked to define the server. All set now and thanks for taking the time to respond.
