Describe the issue

I am unable to play music on my sonos devices from my PC using the Roon app. I am unable to connect to the Roon server on my PC from my iphone running the Roon App.
I can see the devices listed in the bottom RHS of the screen on the PC, but when I try to play to them I get a message: Roon lost control of the audio device.
I am able to play music on my sonos devices using the Sonos app on my iPhone or from Spotify or Tidal.
The problem seems to have started when I tried to update to a new version a few days ago. Before that everything worked well. Today I managed to do an update to the latest version but this has not fixed the problem.
The current Roon Version installed is 2.50 (build 1528) production (64bit). Sonos is running the latest version of software.
I am able to play music to system output.
I am able to stream music from Tidal using Roon on PC to system output.
I have rebooted the pc a few times as well as the wifi network, no change to symptoms.

Describe your network setup

Roon Server is installed on my PC. My PC is connected to my network via wifi. My Sonos devices are connected to my network on WiFi and hardwired. There are no other issues on my network and I have not changed anything other than Roon doing a update which did not seem to install properly initially.

Hi @stuartcleland1,

Thank you for contacting Roon Support and welcome to our comunity.

I’ve enabled diagnostic mode for your account and we can see that there were some issues with the laptop getting an IP address.

Could you please confirm that the issue is still relevant as I see 3 active Sono zones at the moment

Hello,
Yes I am still experiencing the same issues as before.
Thank you.

Hi @stuartcleland1,
Let’s focus on the inability to connect your phone to your server. I think that’s the most instructive symptom. What happens when you try to connect to your Roon server? Do you see any errors?

I have a similar issue after install Build 1528. All my zones/devices disappeared. I have audio setup for SONOS and Moon. After the update they disappeared from the Audio settings. I rebooted Roon, hard booted my WiFi network and reinstalled 1528.

BTW I am running Mac Sequoia 15.4.1

Awesome, I tried what you suggested George and is all working again. Thanks for taking the time to help. Much appreciated.

Hello @stuartcleland1,

Thank you for the update — we’re happy to hear that everything is running as expected now.

We’ve gathered diagnostic information from your device and will do our best to identify the root cause to help prevent such occurrences in the future.
