I started free trial last night. Connected to my Qobuz account and everything seemed to work great. Enjoyed listening to some favorite tracks while reading all the extra information presented. Today the app freezes when I try to start it which is really disappointing. All I see is a half circle with three small vertical lines to the right that oscillate up and down. What’s going on?
@Charles_Clements welcome to the Community. A bit more information would be helpful, including what type of computer and operating system version you are using for Roon Server, and if the issue you are experiencing is on the same computer, a different computer, a phone, tablet, etc.
I have a Dell PC running windows 11. I stream Qobuz and listen to music with a pair of headphones connected to a Aune S9c DAC via the USB port.
You don’t have the Roon server service running. Roon is two parts server and then the gui side. You need to start Roonserver each time you want to use it the start Roon. You should be able to configure windows to autostart the server on boot up by clicking on the Roonserver icon in the task bar when it’s running.
It’s two different apps to allow control from an another computer and not install the server portion. When you initially setup it would have started both for you as part of the install.
Hi @Charles_Clements,
Thanks for writing in to ask us about this issue. @CrystalGipsy is correct that Roon server needs to be running in order to use Roon. Were you able to get Roon to work with @CrystalGipsy’s instructions?
