Hello @lonny,

Thank you for reaching out to Roon Support.

We’ve involved @crieke, who is assisting us with developing solutions for NAS systems.

Could you kindly let us know if any logs are available in the logs folder? You can find the folder location here:

Hello @lonny,

Thank you for checking the logs.

It looks like the issue may be related to blocked pop-ups in your browser, which can prevent Roon from launching properly. Here’s a quick guide to enable pop-ups:

For Google Chrome:

  1. Click the three dots (menu) in the top-right corner → Settings.
  2. Go to Privacy and Security → Site Settings → Pop-ups and redirects.
  3. Add your NAS address (e.g., http://<NAS-IP>) to the Allow list.

For Safari (macOS):

  1. Open Safari → Preferences → Websites → Pop-up Windows.
  2. Find your NAS address in the list or add it manually.
  3. Set it to Allow.

After allowing pop-ups, try launching Roon again and see if it starts successfully.

Please let us know the result, and we can continue troubleshooting if needed.

As the Roon Server app won’t launch, I can’t follow the directions to retrieve the logs via the app. I tried the webpage’s suggestion to “…manually download Roon Server’s log files. Access your database storage location with your computer (or use ASUSTOR File Explorer). The log files are stored in the Logs folder in the RoonServer and RAATServer directory.” I searched for any "Roon* directories and found one, but there are no logs there (I’m attaching the “ls -R” dump of that entire directory hierarchy’s contents). I could not find any variation of “RAATServer” or “RAAT*” whatsoever. RoonServer_contents.txt

OK, that helped me get farther. I can now launch the Roon Server app, and I configured the database location to my SSD. However, I can’t figure out how to set my music location. After I set the database location, I get this page, but there’s no settings/configuration menu that I can find:

After initially posting “that fixed it…”, I immediately discovered that only allowed me to get to the next blocker–namely, I can’t find any configuration/settings menu that allows me to specify the music storage path. I updated my post with this new question, but apparently it was “too late” because I’m getting a popup when adding this comment that “This topic has been solved.” Do I need to do a whole new post here?

Good day @lonny !

Your topic is not closed, you can keep asking here.

Usually you can add watched folders with music in Settings → Storage → Add folder.

Can you please share with us a screenshot of where did it let you go so we can advise you on how to move further ?

Thanks!

Regards.

Thanks for getting back to me! I posted a separate question, and got an answer to my confusion. I was expecting to configure the music locations from the Roon Server app on my NAS. I didn’t realize I was supposed to do that from the client app (iOS, PC, Mac).
