Roon application cannot be opened on NUC 8i5BEK after upgrade. (ref#4F5M8Y)

Is Roon Server running?

· No, Roon Server is not running.

For Roon connectivity to work properly, both Roon Server and Roon Remote need to be turned on.

· I can't turn on Roon Server, I need help.

Describe the issue

I allowed an upgrade to all devices about a month ago and lost the ability to open Roon on my NUC 8i5BEK 16GB ram running windows 11 pro os build 22631 4317 Roon has always been wonderful and we're lost without it- It was not backed up.....

Describe your network setup

Router recently changed from BT to PlusNet but this problem pre-dated the router change- we're also running over LAN to the router and to endpoints

Thanks- I’ve checked the allow apps through firewall exception and it seemed to be Ok.

I cannot see the up chevron character that @anon15113244 has kindly suggested, but that may be me

ah, sorry got it, yes it shows- i’ll try to screenshot

Roon Server appears when I hover over the icon there

Thanks for your help

smartphones, a tablet and the same PC running Roon Server

HI @David_Collier1,
Thanks for reaching out to us about this issue. What do you see if you open the Roon app on your remote devices? Also do you have a screen connected to your Windows NUC? If you do what happens when you open the Roon GUI on there?

Thanks Daniel,
Basic Roon app on my iPhone says – waiting for Roon Server

Roon ARC (which did not load until recent update) says Roon server unreachable (last seen 2 years ago)

Shortcut not opening on in NUC which runs software (under Windows 11)-

Hey @David_Collier1,

Are you able to click ‘select different server’ when in this state? If so, does that help the NUC appear?

With that, could you please use the directions found here and send over a set of Roon Server logs to our File Uploader?

Thank you!

Dear Benjamin,
Sorry for delay I’ve been away.
Roon app on my iphone does give the option to select a different Roon server, but warns about not being able to access music from before, which has inhibited me so far. I’ll try the other server logs request now. Many thanks.

Hi @David_Collier1,

It’s safe to select a different RoonServer from the onboarding screen - you should see your existing database there.

We’re here to assist.
