Welcome to the community, and sorry for the trouble here. To help you, we first need to understand what exactly is happening - could you walk us through it in a bit more detail?
When Roon fails, what do you see on the screen? For example: an error message, the app closing by itself, a “Looking for your Roon Server” screen, or the music simply stopping? A screenshot or a photo of that moment would help a lot.
Since you’re running macOS, the behavior you’re seeing is consistent with the newer, stricter Local Network permission controls in the recent macOS releases.
Please try the following steps:
Open macOS System Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network
Make sure Roon and Roon Server are both enabled
Even if they are already enabled, please toggle them off and back on
Fully quit Roon Server from the macOS menu bar / task bar
Reboot your Mac
After reboot, launch Roon again and check if the devices is avaliable again.
And if you can, note the approximate times (date and hour) when the failures happened - that will help us check what was going on at those moments.
Wanted to follow up on this. Have you had a chance to describe what Roon is doing when it fails, and maybe grab a screenshot or photo of the screen at that moment? We also asked you to check macOS System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network, make sure both Roon and Roon Server are enabled, toggle them off and back on if they already are, then fully quit Roon Server, reboot your Mac, and try again. If you can, send us the approximate times the failures happened so we can line things up on our side.
Please note, if we don’t hear back from you this thread may close automatically soon. If the thread auto-closes and you need further assistance, please submit a reopen support request via the technical support help form below and specify that the issue should be reopened. Thank you.
