Roon application hangs on loading page after multiple reinstalls and firewall adjustments (ref#29SJ0G)

What’s happening?

· I'm having trouble logging in

Where are you having trouble logging in?

· I can't log into the Roon app

Describe the issue

After years of use with no issues, I now can't Roon to open. It hangs up on the loading page. I have tried everything I can think of to fix the issue, including uninstalling and reinstalling the application (3 times), disabling my firewall, confirming that Roon is set appropriately as exceptions in the firewall, etc. No joy.

Describe your network setup

Xfinity 1G modem/router. Hardwired or wireless, tried both. PC sits 3 feet from the router. No prior issues.

Hi @Doug_Henderson,
Thank you for reaching out to us about this issue. The best way for us to proceed with troubleshooting would be for you to send us your Roon server logs. Please use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader. It would also be helpful if you could tell us the date and approximate time when this occurred.

Hello, this first occurred around Sept 3rd. It was not clear whether there was a Windows or Roon update prior as I received no notification of either. The application had always worked previously. I have continued to try and use it since but it simply hangs up on the initial screen.

Hey @Doug_Henderson,

Thanks for the additional information!

To confirm, did you fully remove Roon when you re-installed in previous attempts? Here are the steps I’m referring to:

Do you have a recently saved backup? Make sure you have a fresh backup so you can restore prior library settings. :+1:

After you uninstalled Roon, navigate to C:\Users\[*Your username*]\AppData\Local and delete all Roon folders:

RAATServer
Roon
RoonGoer
RoonServer

After a fresh install (download here), restore your recently saved backup to load your prior library settings.

Success! Thanks for the assist. I will only add that it shouldn’t be this difficult.
