I have an old car without Android Auto o CarPlay and the likes. All it has is a good old bluetooth connection, which works fine with my Galaxy S24 ultra.
The car’s bluetooth and my phone connect to each other automatically as soon as I turn on the car.
When they are connected and I select “Bluetooth source” in my car, my phone starts playing (over the bluetooth connection).
This is because most recent Android implements “Bluetooth Automatic Playback”, that is, as soon as it connects to a bluetooth, sends an autoplay command to the music player (the last that was used), which in turn starts playing whatever is on the playlist.
This works with most of the music players I have installed on my phone: Plexamp, Tidal, Spotify, and so on… Unfortunately, it does not work with Roon Arc.
In order to work, I always need to open first the Roon Arc app. Only then the app can receive the automatic playback command (of course, this is very inconvenient when I am starting to drive).
I do not know if this is actually a Roon Arc issue, so I am asking here if someone had the same problem.
