Describe the issue

Hello, initially I downloaded the ARC app, connected my Fiio streamer (SR11) and for (1) day it worked great! The next day the Roon ARC app would not open, and neither was my Fiio visible as a source. I do not have an Apple product so Airplay is out, I really like Roon, I hope we can work out my issue.

Describe your network setup

fios router,hp laptop,Fiio SR11 streamer, a pretty simple setup, and again it worked great for (1) day!

Apart from the ARC problem, why are you using ARC at all for the SR11 when it is Roon Ready? The regular Roon app can control that and has more features. ARC is for mobile usage outside of the home network.

As for the ARC app not starting, try installing and reinstalling it.

I’m going to remove it from my laptop and use only the roon app only on my phone. This is contrary to what I first used, but if it is a redundant app, I might as well uninstall it right?
Wish me luck!

I’m not quite sure what you are doing

What’s „it“, ARC? The ARC app is only for phones.

There is a Roon app for PC‘s/laptops though, use that, too. (It has more features than the Roon app for phones)

It’s not redundant, it has a different purpose.

The Roon app is available for PC/laptop, phone, and tablet. It’s the main app and is for controlling Roon at home, on the home network.

The ARC app for phones is for accessing Roon when on the move, outside the home network.

Hello @mellownine,

Thanks for reaching out, and welcome to the community!

Let’s clarify a few things so we can help you get everything working again:

1. Roon vs. ARC

  • Roon (the main app) is for use at home on your local network and will see your FiiO SR11 (Roon Ready) automatically.
  • Roon ARC is for mobile use outside your home. It should run on your phone, not your laptop.

So the SR11 should be visible in the Roon app, not in ARC.

2. ARC not opening

To understand why the ARC app stopped opening the next day, could you let us know:

  • What phone model you are using (Android)?
  • What exactly happens when you try to open ARC?
(Does it crash instantly, freeze, show a message?)
  • Have you tried uninstalling ARC on the phone and reinstalling it?

3. FiiO SR11 not visible

Since the SR11 is a Roon Ready device, it should appear automatically under
Settings → Audio in the regular Roon app.

Could you confirm:

  • Does the SR11 show up there at all?
  • Is it connected via Ethernet or Wi-Fi?
  • Did anything change in your network after Day 1?

Once we have these details, we can guide you step-by-step. We’ll get you up and running again!

Hi @mellownine,

Please let us know if we can further clarify any of the details in the post above.
