· Other ARC issues

Tell us what's going on

· Roon Arc is cannot find Roon server. In Roon settings it says that Roon Arc can securely access your Roon server. Upnp is turned on in my Router settings and all Port Forwarding matches the addresses from Roon. Still Roon Arc can't find server.

Tell us about your home network

· Orbi RBS350 main router and one RBS350 extender

Hello @Michael_Corwin,

Thank you for the details. After reviewing your account, we can see that your ARC app on iPhone is running version 2.64 while your Nucleus is on 2.67. This version mismatch is likely contributing to the connection issue — please update ARC to the latest version via the App Store as a first step.

Once updated, please let us know if ARC connects successfully. If the issue persists, could you also share:

  1. Does ARC fail to connect only when away from home on mobile data, or also when on home WiFi?
  2. What error message do you see in ARC when it fails to connect?

Updated to Roon ARC app, still won’t connect to Roon server. I’m on home WIFI and it keeps searching for Roon Server, saying "This is taking longer than normal. Check that your Roon Server is on and connected. You may also want to confirm your network settings and firewall.

Hi @Michael_Corwin,

Does this persist even if the phone is near the main router, not the extender? Can you connect to Roon Remote on the phone in the same location on your home network?

Where is the Roon Server machine connected in the network topolog you shared (the main router or the extender)?

In your Orbi router settings admin page, make sure “Disable IGMP Proxying” is unchecked. This might not solve this particular problem but it will help ensure performance on this Orbi network.

Another heavy-handed step (if you don’t have local tracks on the phone you’d need to redownload) would be to try reinstalling ARC itself.

We’ll watch for your reply and proceed from there.

Hi @Michael_Corwin,

Do you have any issues connecting to the Roon app on WiFi in the same spot?

Verify that “Disable IGMP Proxying” is not checked in your Orbi router settings, if so.

Another thing to double-check: navigate in your iOS Settings to your local network settings and select WiFi Details. Change the Private WiFi Address to “Fixed.” This can prevent the phone from connecting with a different MAC address each time it joins the WiFi (sometimes, Roon Server will lose track of it).

The heavy-handed next step is try reinstalling the ARC app completely; it might have a stale server ID cached somewhere.

We’ll watch for your response. Thank you!
