@John_Leeper, sorry to hear about the issues getting ARC to work. A fellow user here, but it appears you have two routers in your network, the Arris modem/gateway and the Orbi router. I believe this issue results in the behavior you are experiencing getting ARC to work. Who is your ISP?
The diagnostics you’ve provided suggest that UPnP is not properly configured on your router.
Please first try the following steps:
Try to enable UPnP/NATPMP in the web administration interface for the router directly upstream from your Core
Try to manually open the port in your router’s port forwarding configuration
Make sure the IP/Port matches the Port listed in Roon → Settings → ARC
Check for any VPNs or Firewalls that might be interfering
Check if your Arris gateway/modem is in Bridge mode, or if you can activate UPnP on the Arris.
If UPnP does not work or cannot be activated on both the Arris and Orbi routers, and you cannot configure the Arris in Bridge mode, can you create a port forwarding rule on both the Arris and Orbi routers that may be another option to enable ARC to work outside your home?
If you cannot place the Xfinity gateway in bridge mode, then you will need to create port forwarding rules on both the Xfinity and your Orbi router using the port number shown in Settings → Roon ARC:
Arris/Xfinity router port forwarding rule using Roon ARC port pointing to the Orbi router
Orbi router using the same port forwarding rule as #1 pointing to the Roon Core
Thank you for your patience in awaiting a response.
Bridge mode is the answer here. You should be able to enable it via your MyXfinity app. However, when I did this it brought my network down. Xfinity had to do it for me. I believe your best course of action is to contact them, tell them what you’re wanting to accomplish, and asking for remote assistance with bridge mode. They can trigger the change from their side and make sure all is working correctly afterward. Then you’re just down to getting the port forwarding working correctly with your Netgear setup.
