Describe the issue

I manually opened the port and set up port forwarding for ARC. In the Roon app on my machine when I test it says "Roon ARC can securely access your Roon Server."

When I try on my phone, however, I see some weird things.

1) I see two Roon Core Kits (I recently updated machine / restored Roon, so perhaps this is why?)
2) For one of my Core Kit's (the correct one), it fluctuates between showing a green light 'Online and ready' or saying that it was connected 1 minute ago.

When I attempt to connect to the roon core that was recently online, connections fail but and I eventually get "Can't connect to your Roon Server."

For my router, I have disabled UPnP as this is a security issue, however I have confirmed I can connect via the port 55000 via TCP via external port scanners.

How can I troubleshoot this further?

Describe your network setup

Synology RT6600ax router. I am following the same method for opening a port as I do for a VPN service and SSH into a linux server and this works correctly. So I am able to open both TCP and UDP ports.

For ARC I have only opened a TCP port.

FYI it’s working fine, so there must have been an intermittent issue.

It would be nice if we had a better method for troubleshooting.

Hi @Lucas_Vickers,

If you’d prefer to bypass port forwarding entirely, you can rely on the built-in Tailscale interface in RoonOS instead. You’d just need to install Tailscale on the phone with which you use ARC.
