Roon server (build 1583) runs on Windows NT 11 Pro (25H2), using port 50100 for ARC.
Describe your network setup
The Roon server (build 1583) runs on a Window 11 Pro (version 25H2). It uses port 50100 for ARC.
The server (IP 192.168.2.212) is connected to Router A (Network 192.168.1.0, external IP 192.168.2.6). Port 50100 is forwarded to my ISP router (network 192.168.2.0 and IP 192.168.2.254 Internet). The ISP router forward port 50100 to the Internet.
Up till recently ARC worked okay. The ARC app on my FiFo M125 could connect to Roon server, play tracs and could download music files.
But lately, when I click the Again button (the twisted arrow) in Roon setting Roon ARC it takes a very long time (2-3 minutes) to give READY and the ARC app. Cannot connect. When I disable “offline mode” in settings an errlor wikndow pops up, saying “Roon server offline”. Repeatedly hitting the Retry button won’t help.
Did you create a manual port forwarding rule in your router settings page? It looks like you’re relying on autoconfiguration with UPnP. It’s possible the router is simply having trouble negotiating an open port with the server when you refresh that page.
You can install Tailscale as an alternative to port forwarding using the instructions two posts above this one. This will open a separate network pathway between RoonServer and ARC - you can compare performance via Tailscale to port forwarding and see which is faster.
